Acupuncture: Initial Consultation (90 mins) - $120 | Follow-Up (50 mins) - $80
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body to treat the root cause of an imbalance and return the body to a state of optimal balance and health. These body points have been mapped out for thousands of years by Chinese scholars and are located in channels along the body called meridians. "Qi" (chi) is the vital force basic to all life forms, and it flows along these specific pathways or meridians. The proper placement of needles along these meridians enhances the flow of Qi, promoting a greater sense of health balance and vitality. These needles are sterilized, metallic needles that are as thin as hair. A sharp pain is not usual, but a sensation described as a dull ache or a tugging sensation is common. (Non-needling techniques are available for those who are extremely sensitive to needles)
The NIH (National Institute of Health) and the WHO (World Health Organization) recognize Acupuncture's ability to treat over 43 common disorders, including disorders of the gastrointestinal system, respiratory system, bone, muscles, joints, and nervous system, and more, including emotional and psychological disorders.
Your initial 90 minute consultation includes a holistic health assessment, wellness plan, and coaching. The health assessment will include a full and detailed health history as well as a review of your body's strengths and weaknesses.
Follow up sessions (average 50 minutes) will continue the healing begun in your first treatment. These are usually scheduled a week apart for 6-8 weeks.
As in any form of healing, your attitude, diet, determination, and lifestyle will affect the outcome. You are encouraged to actively participate in the healing process.
Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage): 55 mins - $90
Tui Na literally means to push (Tui) and to grasp (Na). This method of Chinese Bodywork utilizes soft tissue manipulation, acupressure, and structural realignment methods to lessen or alleviate a wide variety of musculoskeletal and internal organ disorders. Tui Na uses Traditional Chinese Medicine theory in assessing energetic and functional disorders. Session includes the use of TDP lamp, a mineral lamp that uses infrared (below visible light) emissions to increase microcirculation and loosens fascia to accelerate the natural healing processes of the body. . This lamp is a medical device that is approved by the FDA for temporary relief from pain and arthritis.
