The Helping Touch Massage and Wellness Center
The Helping Touch Massage is the vision of Jessica E. Chasen, CMT, a Voorhees area resident who wanted to form a center for massage therapists, like herself, to work with people to aid them on their path to wellness.

As a hospital pharmacist for 10 years, Jessica realized that many patients needed more than just the medicines ordered for their illnesses.  They also needed caring support that would address their mental, spiritual, and emotional needs as well as the physical ones.
In 2006, she completed her training at Massage Arts Center in Philadelphia, and became a national board certified massage therapist (NCBTMB).  She began her business working with people at their homes, and in early 2008, the Helping Touch Massage office construction was completed.

This beautiful massage office was designed to provide a bridge between the sterile medical office and the indulgent expensive spa options available to people searching for therapeutic massage and integrative wellness services.  In our office, you are provided with a wonderfully calming space to get the help you need to care for your body, mind, and spirit.
Through massage therapy, Jessica feels she has been able to provide her clients with the best of all care, and loves being a part of the "Helping Touch" that they need.

At this time, Jessica is not able to provide direct massage therapy due to an injury, but she is happy to be working with other therapists who share her vision and is thrilled the business continues with them.
Jillian Jarema is a Massage Therapist who recently completed her training at Rizzieri’s School for the Healing Arts in March 2011.  After graduating from Cherokee High School in 2009 she attended Burlington Community College intent on becoming a history teacher.  She quickly realized that this did not suit her, when she stumbled on the field of massage therapy, and instantly knew that massage was the perfect fit.  Jill’s eyes were opened to the miraculous world of massage, and quickly  realized that she wasn’t meant to work in a traditional spa with their cookie-cutter styles.  Instead, she prefers to approach each client’s massage in a constructive and personalized way to better suit each individual’s needs.

In addition to the deep-tissue and Swedish massage therapy work she does so well, Jill is looking to expand her knowledge and education to allow her to provide specialized care for cancer patients.  Her personal experience from having a father with cancer and seeing the side effects of his treatment, has made becoming certified in Oncology massage her next goal in life.

She doesn’t want to change the world, just help people feel more comfortable in their own skin.

Bob Schuster, CMT, a graduate of Harris School of Business, has been working as a Massage Therapist in the Medford and Voorhees areas since 2010, primarily for a  physical therapy and fitness group as well as a local spa. Bob is trained in many modalities such as Deep Tissue, Swedish, Reflexology, Hot Stone, Medical, Sports, Therapeutic and M.E.T. stretches (muscle energy technique). Bob is certified in CPR, enjoys membership in the ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals), and is licensed by the state of New Jersey.

Bob is excited to be a therapist at Helping Touch Massage, as it will allow him to provide a very personalized approach to his client's therapies.  Bob's primary interest is in helping clients with pain management due to injury, surgery, illness or exercise.

Barbara Scott is a Massage Therapist who effectively uses the long flowing movements of Swedish massage techniques to calm and relax your body, creating a moment in time that focuses on your needs to attain a balanced body, mind, spirit.  In addition to her massage work, Barbara is a Certified Usui Reiki Master who has effectively provided this calming therapy for many people over the past 12 years, including Nursing Home residents and pre- and post-operative patients. Deeply passionate about helping others to “feel better”, Barbara relates how gratifying it was to witness the responsiveness to Reiki treatments of residents of the Dementia Unit at one of the skilled nursing facilities in which she facilitated a program. Reiki is considered to be Universal Life Force Healing Energy and is administered by a practitioner who has been “attuned” by a Reiki Master in a sacred ceremony. Reiki energy has its own intelligence and facilitates the body’s ability to heal.

A Jamaican-born, American citizen, whose experience in the fields of publishing, customer service and healthcare spans over 40 years, Barbara feels she has finally found “her true calling” and will continue to add modalities to complement her expertise in energy/light and bodywork.
